EDEN BOUDREAU

WRITER. SPEAKER. PROFESSIONAL OVERSHARER.

Eden Boudreau is the queer, neurodivergent author of Crying Wolf: A Memoir (Book*hug Press, 2023) which was shortlisted for a Lamda Literary Award in Bisexual Nonfiction.

Crying Wolf follows Boudreau’s raw and vulnerable journey to recovery after a violent sexual assault, with disbelievers at every turn, due in part to her non-traditional lifestyle as a queer, polyamorous person.

Boudreau’s personal journalism has appeared in Chatelaine, Write Magazine, Today’s Parent, Globe & Mail, Flare Magazine, Runner’s World and other major publications.

As an author and speaker she has appeared on popular podcasts, panels and reading series including the Riverside Reading Series, What Happened Next, The Shit No One Tells You About Writing, Afterwords Literary Festival and at the KGB Club in New York City.

Originally from Halifax, NS, Boudreau now lives outside Toronto with her three sons and trio of adorable cats, which you can see more of on her Instagram than her #writinglife.

“Crying Wolf is a phoenix rising from the ash of Boudreau’s pain. A stunning and eloquent debut.”

Kelly S. Thompson, national bestselling author of Girls Need Not Apply and Still, I Cannot Save You

“Searing. Raw. Essential reading, now more than ever. Boudreau razes ground that most fear to tread.”

Bianca Marais, bestselling author of The Witches of Moonshyne Manor and co-host of The Shit No One Tells You About Writing podcast

“Boudreau’s early passion for writing and reading turned out to be key to her recovery. On the advice of her therapist, she took up her pen and joined a writing retreat with a literary idol. In the end, she weighed the potential shame of going public with a trial against taking charge of her own story and how it would be told. Crying Wolf is the result of that choice: a battle cry for women who have survived assault.”
